A list of English maintained schools accredited as 'Beacon Schools' for performance during the 1996/97 school year, as identified by OFSTED (Office for Standards in Education). The list is published on the DFEE web site. The list also contains the services the schools offer within the Beacon School scheme. There are 5 (of 75) schools offering expertise in "spiritual and moral development" and 1 school in "values and character management".

The web site of the Total Quality Partnership - a consultancy specialising in areas such as Resource Deployment, Process Assurance, Leadership Development, Strategic Planning, Process Improvement. The site contains a paper "The Re-invention of Education: An analysis of the application of Total Quality in US and UK Education" which applies the principles of TQP to education and has some details of notable schools which have applied TQ methods. Also on the site is a "Tool of the Week" explanation of one improvement technique.

This resource provides information about charter schools in the USA principally to those involved in running or starting charter schools. There is a useful reports and research section which includes a series of reports and case studies. One case study is an ongoing report of 'Leadership High' in San Francisco, with an account of the origins of the school's mission and instructional philosophy and negotiation with its community.
