Context in which the lesson is set |
This lesson is the third in a series of lessons looking at geographical surroundings. Over several hours pupils build up a picture of their ideal town, giving reasons for their choices of who and what will be in their town. During this process pupils become familiar with the vocabulary associated with Persons, Buildings, and Rules. They also have the opportunity to consider the human qualities of the people in their town. |
What the lesson is about |
In this lesson pupils will discuss the kinds of rules and behaviour which they might expect to see in their ideal town. They will consider the moral expectations placed on people if they are to live together successfully. |
Expected outcomes |
Pupils will be able to use different kinds of behaviour to complete sentences such as "On doit...........", "On ne doit pas............." in order express the kinds of behaviour they expect to see in their town. Pupils may be able to discuss reasons for establishing law and order. |
Details of Teacher and Pupil Activities |
Cards or board work used to match up command forms, "Il faut...........", "Il ne faut pas......." with phrases such as "fumer","jurer" etc. A brainstorm approach could be used to allow pupils to form their own ideas about what should or should not be permitted. |
